Intarsia Knitting on the 6th of February
Intarsia knitting is a technique that allows you to produce blocks of colours – letters, teddy bears, big geometric shapes. Think of the bold, colourful 1980s knitted jumpers that are back in fashion. The effect is achieved by winding the different coloured yarns around each other at the interchange and the colour finished with being dropped ready to be picked up again on the return row. Once you have the hang of it, it is a relatively easy technique but one that can give a “wow” impact.
