The legacy of the Stitch in Time project

THE LEGACY OF THE ‘TRUMPINGTON 2016 – A STITCH IN TIME’ PROJECT

The Stitch in Time project was funded by a public art grant associated with the expansion of Trumpington, and we are pleased that it has produced much more than four beautiful wallhangings.

During the creation of the quilts, many people learned new skills and met new people. It brought together long established residents and newcomers moving into brand new homes. It firmly established the Trumpington Stitchers as a flourishing local group, and funded a website that will provide a source of information and inspiration for years to come.

This section of the website,  launched in March 2019, will feature information and local activities connected with the places depicted on the wall-hangings. It will provide links to digital resources locally and further afield, and we hope that as a result people visiting the site will discover more of what Trumpington has to offer, and that this will help our growing community to flourish in the years to come.
