Basic hand sewing
How to sew on a button, take up a hem, patch some jeans, stitch on a name tag or stitch teddy’s ear back on. Bring something with you that you want to do or we can supply equipment and materials for you to learn on.
Monday 8th October 2018
Learn basic stitches and make a square or bring a project you want help with. Materials and equipment supplied.
monday 22nd and monday 29th october 2018
Making decorated diary covers with Carol Holloway.
The first session will be the messy bit with glue, and the second to finish the stitching which you haven’t done at home in the meantime.

Stitched Cards workshop with Dorothy Ronaldson
Use the darning foot to free machine stitch and make a card or brooch. This is for people with basic machining skills who want to learn free machine embroidery. Materials supplied. Extra charge £2 for materials.

Bunting has come a long way from village fetes and street parties, although it’s always effective at thoselarge scale outdoor events. It is a also great way to celebrate on a smaller, personal scale. We will explore how you can develop basic bunting to celebrate Christmas, a new baby, a new home, or wherever your imagination takes you.

Threading up, inserting the bobbin, how to do straight stitch, zig zag and fancy stitches. We supply machines and materials.

How to cast on, knit, purl, garter stitch. Make a square or bring a project you want help with. Materials and equipment supplied.

Make a zipped purse
Learn how to insert a zip to create a small zipped purse. Basic machining skills desirable. Materials supplied. Extra charge £2 for materials.
