MONDAY 1ST APRIL
Machine Embroidery and Applique
with Carol Holloway
Learn how to use the sewing machine for free motion embroidery including machine applique (‘Stick and Stitch’). Make an Easter card
Extra charge £2 for materials.
MONDAY 13th MAY
(NOT MAY 6th which is a bank holiday)
Basic hand sewing
with jackie and dilly
How to sew on a button, take up a hem, patch some jeans, stitch on a name tag or stitch teddy’s ear back on. Bring something with you that you want to do or we can supply equipment and materials for you to learn on.

Bunting has come a long way from village fetes and street parties, although it’s always effective at those large scale outdoor events. It is a also great way to celebrate on a smaller, personal scale. We will explore how you can develop basic bunting to celebrate a birthday, friend’s new baby, a new home, or wherever your imagination takes you.
We will also be making bunting for the Stitchers’ Craft Fair on June 29th.

Learn to use a sewing machine
Threading up, inserting the bobbin, how to do straight stitch, zig zag and fancy stitches. We supply machines and materials.
monday august 5th
make do and mend
Bring something you would like to mend or alter
monday september 2nd
Learn the technique and make a table mat or runner
monday october 7th
make a cycle saddle cover
Useful, comfortable, waterproof and beautiful.
Extra charge £4 for materials
monday november 4th
How to cast on, knit, purl, garter stitch etc and make a warm head muff for the winter or bring a project you want help with. Materials and equipment supplied.
monday december 2nd
Learn basic stitches and make a square. Materials and equipment supplied, or bring a project you want help with.

Making decorated notebook covers
This workshop needs two sessions. The first session will be the messy bit with glue, and the second to finish the stitching if you haven’t done it at home in the meantime.
Making a zipped purse
Learn how to insert a zip to create a small zipped purse. Basic machining skills desirable. Materials supplied.
